Parking Allowed in Commercial Districts from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on December 30 that it will extend the suspension of illegal parking enforcement in commercial districts for one more year, until December 31 of next year, to support small business owners struggling due to the economic downturn.

The suspension hours will remain the same as before, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for two hours. Enforcement will also be suspended during lunchtime, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Previously, the city implemented the "suspension of illegal parking enforcement" system starting February 26 of last year.

However, parking in six designated no-parking zones-intersection corners, fire hydrants, bus stops, crosswalks, sidewalks, and children's protection zones-may result in fines or towing. Administrative action will also be taken if parking threatens public safety or obstructs traffic.

Lee Sangil, Mayor of Yongin, said, "I hope this suspension of enforcement will serve as a catalyst for the recovery of local businesses."
