Sampyo Group's 'Bluecon Winter' Emerges as a Winter Construction Site Solution

This Season's Supply Expected to Reach 600,000 Cubic Meters
Market Competitiveness Enhanced by Shorter Construction Periods, Quality, Safety, and Eco-Friendliness

Sampyo Group's on-site concrete product, 'Bluecon Winter,' is gaining attention as an innovative technology that addresses the challenges faced at construction sites during severe cold spells. It is expected to break its cumulative sales record for the past eight years in just this one season since its commercialization.

According to Sampyo Group's analysis of seasonal sales trends on December 30, the expected shipment volume of Bluecon Winter for this season (November to March) is 600,000 cubic meters. This figure surpasses the total cumulative sales volume of 525,363 cubic meters recorded from the product's market launch in 2017 up to March of this year.

This explosive surge in demand is the result of the product's technological capabilities being recognized in the traditionally conservative construction materials market. During winter, subzero temperatures often delay concrete curing and cause moisture to freeze, leading to reduced durability and frequent quality defects. Bluecon Winter achieves a compressive strength of 5MPa within 36 hours of pouring, even in extreme conditions as low as minus 15 degrees Celsius, without the need for additional thermal curing. (1MPa is the force required to withstand a load of 10 kilograms per square centimeter.)

This enables shorter construction periods and improved quality. Bluecon Winter secures sufficient strength to allow formwork removal within 36 hours after pouring. Years of on-site application have also verified its consistent quality stability. Additionally, as there is no need for separate heating or curing work, it completely eliminates the emission of toxic gases, ensuring respiratory safety for workers. The earlier removal of formwork also reduces the time spent on high-rise tasks or in hazardous areas. This means a lower risk of fall accidents, which are a major safety concern at construction sites during winter.

Bluecon Winter has been designated as a 'Construction New Technology (No. 995)' by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and has also received 'Green Technology Certification.' The Construction New Technology designation is granted to technologies developed for the first time in Korea. The recently acquired Green Technology Certification is a national recognition based on the Framework Act on Carbon Neutrality, awarded to technologies that save energy and resources and minimize greenhouse gas emissions. Bluecon Winter utilizes proprietary technology to accelerate the hydration heat of concrete, significantly reducing carbon emissions at construction sites and helping construction companies achieve their ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management goals.

The record-breaking sales this season were also driven by the 'Warranty' system. This is a commitment by the manufacturer to take full responsibility for quality risks. Sampyo Group adheres to KS quality standards as a principle, but also pledges to take 100% responsibility for repairs and all necessary actions in the event of initial frost damage or any quality defects after product use. This has alleviated construction companies' concerns about winter construction quality and clearly defined the manufacturer's unlimited responsibility.

A Sampyo Group representative stated, "The fact that this year's expected sales volume exceeds the cumulative total of the past eight years is evidence that Bluecon Winter has become not only an essential material but also the standard for winter construction sites, going beyond the category of special concrete," adding, "We will further solidify our leadership in the winter concrete market based on our accumulated quality data."
