Through this agreement, the participating organizations have decided to establish a cooperative system for the stable production, distribution, and expanded consumption of eco-friendly rice, and to work together for the sustainable development of local agriculture.
The main contents of the agreement include establishing a stable production, distribution, and consumption base for eco-friendly rice; diversifying sales channels by expanding rice consumption in the public sector and discovering new private consumption outlets; raising consumer awareness through promotional and educational cooperation to boost eco-friendly rice consumption; and strengthening the sustainable rice production base by supporting policy funds in the agri-food sector and linking financial consulting.
In particular, Gurye County plans to expand the consumption of eco-friendly rice centered on public meal services and public institutions, while actively seeking new consumption outlets by connecting private distribution networks with companies and organizations. Through this, the county aims to secure stable sales channels for eco-friendly rice, increase farmers' incomes, and enhance the sustainability of local eco-friendly agriculture.
The Korea Agro-Food Venture Investment Association plans to support eco-friendly rice producers and related organizations by linking agricultural policy funds and financial consulting to ensure stable management. Gurye Agricultural Cooperative and GreenOlin Co., Ltd. will be responsible for practical cooperation in production and distribution. In addition, the Carbon Neutral Soil Restoration Movement Headquarters and Pulganamu Co., Ltd. will contribute to raising consumer awareness through promotional and educational activities highlighting the value of eco-friendly rice and the importance of carbon-neutral agriculture.
Gurye County has consistently practiced eco-friendly agriculture based on its regional identity as the 'home of soil restoration,' reducing the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides and restoring soil vitality. This agreement is expected to further advance the sustainable agricultural model centered on eco-friendly rice by adding a collaborative structure encompassing production, distribution, consumption, and finance to these ongoing efforts.
Kim Soonho, Governor of Gurye County, stated, "This agreement is the starting point for spreading eco-friendly rice not just as an agricultural product, but as a public value that benefits the environment, health, and the local economy," adding, "Through a collaborative model involving both the public and private sectors, we will concretely shape the future of eco-friendly agriculture."
Meanwhile, about 50 members of Gurye County's eco-friendly agricultural organizations (Sansuyu Gol Farming Association Corporation, Omega-3 Farming Association Corporation, Gurye County Eco-Friendly Farming Association) also attended the signing ceremony.
