Excellence Award in North Gyeongsang SME Policy Evaluation
Effective "Triple Support" in Digital Transformation, Procurement, and Labor Environment
Uiseong County has once again demonstrated the continuity and effectiveness of its small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) development policies.
Uiseong County (Governor Kim Jusu) announced that it has received the Excellence Award in the “2025 SME Development Policy County Evaluation” organized by North Gyeongsang Province.
With this award, Uiseong County has been recognized for both the stability of its SME support administration and the completeness of its policies, winning for three consecutive years in 2023, 2024, and this year.
The North Gyeongsang Province SME Development Policy County Evaluation is designed to systematically identify SME support policies and improve unreasonable regulations to create a business-friendly environment.
It is conducted annually for 22 cities and counties in the province, comprehensively assessing the policy planning capabilities and execution performance of SME support departments.
This year’s evaluation was based on 14 items across five categories, including the establishment of SME support policies, implementation results of various support projects, and participation records in policy initiatives. Uiseong County achieved balanced results across the evaluation indicators, ranking among the top local governments.
In particular, policies that directly reduced burdens on businesses-such as the expansion of digital transformation support models, free provision of bidding information and support for public procurement registration, and participation in projects to improve dormitory conditions for foreign workers-received high marks. It is analyzed that these effectiveness-focused policies, targeting both productivity improvement and workforce stabilization, have led to tangible results.
Governor Kim Jusu of Uiseong County stated, “The positive evaluation is the result of focusing administrative efforts on creating a foundation for local businesses to grow stably,” adding, “We will continue to listen to the voices of business owners and make Uiseong an even better place to run a company.”
It is not easy for small and medium-sized cities to maintain the continuity of SME policies.
Uiseong County’s three-year consecutive award demonstrates that policies focused on structural change, rather than short-term outcomes, are taking root in the field.
Uiseong’s industrial strategy is drawing attention as administration becomes a key competitive advantage.
