The Blue House stated on the 29th that it is "taking the allegations surrounding Kim Byungki, the floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, very seriously."
During a briefing at Chunuchu-gwan that afternoon, Blue House spokesperson Kang Yujeong responded this way when asked how seriously the Blue House is viewing the allegations against Floor Leader Kim.
However, spokesperson Kang explained, "Since the floor leader is elected by the members of the National Assembly, the Blue House should maintain some distance from making any statements," adding, "There has not yet been an opportunity to express an official position."
Floor Leader Kim is facing various allegations, including the misuse of a corporate credit card by his spouse. Although concerns have also been raised within the ruling party, Floor Leader Kim has yet to make an official statement.
