Pukyong National University Digital Smart Busan Academy Holds 7th AI Project Course Graduation Ceremony

20 Graduates Complete the Course
AI Platform for Analyzing National Assembly Legislative Data Wins Top Prize

Pukyong National University continues to achieve results in nurturing AI talent tailored to the needs of local industries.

The Digital Smart Busan Academy Project Group at Pukyong National University, led by Noh Maengseok, held the graduation ceremony for the 7th class of the Digital Smart Busan Academy 'AI Project Course' at the Convergence Hall in the Information Convergence Building on campus on the 24th.

During the event, 20 graduates received certificates of completion, and an award ceremony for outstanding students was held alongside the project presentations. The graduates shared the results of their studies by presenting AI project outcomes that reflected the needs of companies and public institutions.

As a result of the project presentations, the top prize went to the team of Park Ji-won (graduate of the Department of Political Science and Diplomacy), Kang Na-young (third-year student in Scientific Computing), Kim Seung-woo (fourth-year student in Physics), and Pham Thi Yen Vi (first-year student in Global Liberal Arts) for their project, "AI Legislative Process Analysis Web Platform Based on the National Assembly Minutes and Bill Data of the Republic of Korea." The President's Award of Pukyong National University was presented to Kim Min-jun (fourth-year student majoring in Computer Engineering).

The Digital Smart Busan Academy Project Group operates under the leadership of Pukyong National University, in collaboration with nine institutions, including Dong-A University, Dong-Eui University, and specialized software education organizations such as Shinsegae I&C. Through the "University-Industry Cooperation SW Academy" project led by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation, the group has been nurturing SW and AI professionals who meet the on-site needs of regional companies.

Through various educational programs, including the "AI Project Course," the project group has produced about 500 graduates over the past four years. The employment rate of graduates reached 80% in the first year and over 60% in the second year, with most finding positions at major local public institutions and leading IT companies such as Korea Asset Management Corporation, Busan Transportation Corporation, BNK System, Hyundai Heavy Industries, and Hyundai Motor Company.

Noh Maengseok, head of the Digital Smart Busan Academy Project Group, stated, "Building on the achievements of the project, which will continue until March next year, we will further strengthen our efforts to nurture outstanding AI talent who can lead local industries with companies and contribute to national development."
