Goheung County Selected as Excellent Institution for Food and Public Hygiene Evaluation for 7 Consecutive Years

High Scores in Civil Complaint Handling and More

Goheung County in South Jeolla Province announced on December 29 that it has been selected as an excellent institution for seven consecutive years in the safety management evaluation of food and public hygiene sectors conducted by Jeollanam-do across 22 cities and counties.


Each year, Jeollanam-do evaluates 22 cities and counties in the province based on five categories and 21 detailed indicators, including basic hygiene management criteria, and selects three local governments as excellent institutions, sharing outstanding cases with others.

Goheung County received high scores in all evaluation categories, including the use of food safety management infrastructure, civil complaint handling, and guidance and inspections, thereby being recognized for its outstanding administrative capabilities in food safety management.


In addition, Goheung County achieved the distinction of being selected as an excellent institution for five consecutive years in the 2025 Food Safety Management Excellent Institution Evaluation, which was organized by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and assessed cities, counties, and districts nationwide.


An official from the county’s tourism policy office stated, “Being selected as an excellent institution in the food and public hygiene evaluation is the result of our joint efforts with food service workers to ensure that the high-quality food of clean Goheung earns the trust of consumers,” adding, “We will continue to do our best in food safety management to prevent food safety incidents and create a safe food environment.”
