The city was also selected as an outstanding local government in workforce management for major national policy tasks such as disaster safety and integrated care, securing a special grant of 150 million won.

The Excellent Local Government Organization Operation Evaluation is an annual assessment conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety to spread best practices in organizational management among local governments and to strengthen organizational capabilities.

Gwangmyeong City ranked among the top 10 local governments in the "Performance Category," which evaluates the achievement rate of workforce reallocation following its own organizational diagnosis. Previously, the city was also recognized as an "Outstanding Local Government for Organizational and Workforce Management Efficiency" in last year's evaluation.

The city explained that its systematic organizational redesign, tailored to changes in administrative demand, was the key to this achievement. Over the past year, the city closely analyzed the workload and functional changes for each project, reducing functions that had declined in administrative importance and consolidating similar functions to increase organizational density.

In practice, the city strategically allocated personnel to address local issues related to the development of Gwangmyeong Siheung New Town, expansion of metropolitan transportation networks, and creation of living infrastructure, proactively responding to the rapidly increasing administrative demand in these areas.

Through organizational redesign, the city strategically reassigned 39 employees, accounting for 3% of its total workforce, thereby enhancing both organizational efficiency and on-site responsiveness.

This year, the city promoted a strategic organizational restructuring with safety, care, the people's livelihood economy, and future growth as its core values for organizational management. In this process, it established a stable organizational operation system that aligns with national and provincial policy directions.

Seungwon Park, Mayor of Gwangmyeong, said, "We will continue to implement systematic organizational management that proactively responds to changing administrative demands and future challenges, so that citizens can experience tangible changes in their daily lives."
