He added, "For 35 years, I have served as an economic bureaucrat, overseeing South Korea's economic policies and budgets, and as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, I have steered the national economy." He continued, "As a three-term National Assembly member and floor leader, I have built the political capabilities and networks necessary to turn policy into reality."

Regarding his ongoing trial for allegedly obstructing the vote to lift martial law, he stated, "Political attacks against me may continue, but I will resolutely confront and overcome any low-level political oppression and retaliation," adding, "I will confidently seek judicial truth in the courtroom."
