The 2026 season consists of family musicals and educational and planned performances, designed to allow audiences to experience history and culture alongside the exhibitions at the National Museum of Korea.
The season will open in January with the musical 'Alphablocks.' Based on the British BBC educational animation, this production is a sequel to last season's 'Numberblocks.' It features alphabet characters, helping children learn English words and phonics.
In March, the original musical 'Taekwon, Fly High,' inspired by Taekwondo, will take the stage. The performance expresses Taekwondo movements and tells a story of growth.
In June, a special planned performance titled 'Museum-Linked Series' will be held, based on artifacts and exhibitions from the National Museum of Korea's collection.
In July, the family musical 'Grandmother's Summer Vacation,' adapted from the picture book by author Annyeong Dal, will be performed.
In September, 'Codename X,' a stage adaptation of the original work by Kang Kyungsoo, winner of the Bologna Ragazzi Award, will be presented to audiences.
In November, a new immersive performance will be introduced as part of the ongoing 'Thinking Theater' series.
The season will conclude with the museum family musical 'K-POP Joseon Magician Jin Jun,' a time-slip musical set in the Joseon Dynasty.
Jung Yongseok, President of the National Museum Culture Foundation, stated, "The 2026 Theater Season Repertoire is designed for all generations to enjoy together," adding, "We hope that these performances will make it easier for audiences to experience history and culture."
