Ansan City Signs Pilot Agreement for 'Good Brokerage Office' Program

Five certified real estate brokerage offices in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province, will offer a 20% discount on brokerage fees for lease contracts to young adults without homes.

On December 29, Ansan City announced that it had signed an agreement on December 26 with five local brokerage offices to pilot the 'Youth-Friendly Good Real Estate Brokerage Office' program.

This initiative is a public-private partnership project created through the voluntary participation of members of the Ansan Danwon-gu branch of the Korea Association of Realtors. It aims to ease the housing cost burden for young adults who are early in their careers, often move due to school or work, and have limited financial resources.

Under the agreement, participating offices will provide a 20% discount on brokerage fees, up to a maximum of 60,000 won, for lease transactions under 100 million won made for residential purposes by young adults aged 19 to 29 who are registered residents of Ansan and do not own a home.

The participating offices are: Daewoo Myville in Gojan-dong, Centerheim in Jungang-dong, Palgusa in Baegun-dong, Shinyeoseong in Choji-dong, and OK in Seonbu 1-dong. These offices have received official designation plaques and stickers for display.

The city plans to continue expanding the number of participating offices. In addition, it will cooperate with these offices to jointly promote major youth policies, conduct public outreach, and identify and connect at-risk youth facing isolation or withdrawal.

Lee Mingun, Mayor of Ansan, stated, "We will work together with the local association of certified real estate agents to supplement and expand real estate policies, not only so that young people but also all citizens can find homes more safely."

Meanwhile, in addition to this brokerage fee discount, the city is also implementing various programs for youth housing stability, such as support for real estate brokerage fees and moving expenses for young people, and subsidies for deposit loan interest for monthly or yearly rental contracts. Detailed information about these programs can be found on the Ansan City Hall website under 'Information by Field - Youth Policy,' or by contacting the city's Youth Policy Department.
