According to the city on December 29, this recruitment is designed to prevent the outflow of young people and to enhance the employment capabilities of local youth. The program is structured with three robust courses that reflect the high demand among examinees: an in-person public servant class, a public servant video class, and a public enterprise (NCS) class.
First, the in-person public servant class features lectures by professional instructors on common subjects such as Korean, English, and Korean History, as well as required subjects like Administrative Law and Public Administration. For students preparing for employment at public enterprises, the NCS (National Competency Standards) class offers on-site lectures in three core subjects: mathematics, problem solving, and communication.
In addition, those who choose the public servant video class can access online lectures for all subjects, including electives, allowing them to study at their own pace according to their individual progress.
Eligibility is open to anyone who, as of the announcement date, has been continuously residing in Jeongeup for at least six months, or to the spouses and children of such residents. The age range is broadly set from 18 to 45 years, providing opportunities to a wide range of citizens.
Citizens wishing to participate should visit the Youth Employment Exam Preparation Class office on the third floor of the Lifelong Learning Center to apply in person. For more details, applicants can check the talent development section on the city’s website or inquire by phone.
Since its launch in February 2023, the Youth Employment Exam Preparation Class has achieved remarkable results, producing a total of 42 successful candidates, including 36 public servants and 6 in the financial and public sectors as of this year. The program is recognized for its significant contribution to helping young people settle stably in the local community without having to leave the area.
A city official stated, "We are doing our best to provide comprehensive, customized educational services for those preparing for various public servant and public enterprise exams," adding, "Through this program, we hope that outstanding local youth can secure the stable jobs they desire and establish their roots in Jeongeup without having to move away."
