Kim Ajin, a member of the Seocheon County Council in South Chungcheong Province, received the Excellence Award in the Basic Council Member category for outstanding ordinances at the "2025 Local Council Member Manifesto Promise Awards" organized by the Korea Manifesto Implementation Headquarters.
With this award, Assemblywoman Kim has achieved the distinction of winning for three consecutive years, following her wins in 2023 and 2024, once again demonstrating the continuity and effectiveness of her policy-driven legislative activities for the development of Seocheon County and the promotion of residents' welfare.
According to a report by The Asia Business Daily on the 29th, Assemblywoman Kim sponsored the "Ordinance on Fiscal Soundness and Efficiency of Seocheon County."
This ordinance was highly praised for minimizing waste factors throughout the budgeting and execution process and for institutionally strengthening transparency and efficiency in fiscal management.
In particular, she was recognized for establishing a foundation to systematically manage limited local finances, thereby ensuring that residents' taxes are used in line with policy objectives, and for practically implementing the council's oversight and checks through substantive local legislation.
The Manifesto Promise Awards, which comprehensively evaluate legislative activities of local councils, are known for their strict assessment not only of the originality of ordinances but also of their applicability in the field and policy effectiveness.
Assemblywoman Kim's three-year consecutive win is seen as the result of her continuous legislative efforts throughout her term, connecting voices from the field to legislation, rather than a one-off achievement.
Assemblywoman Kim stated, "It is very meaningful and I am deeply grateful to receive the Manifesto Award for three consecutive years," and added, "The fiscal soundness ordinance recognized this time was pursued because I believed it was essential for the future financial stability of Seocheon County."
She continued, "The more challenging the local finances, the more important it is for council members to carefully monitor so that residents can feel secure," emphasizing, "Going forward, I will continue to demonstrate a 'working council' that brings about real changes in the lives of residents, rather than engaging in merely formal legislation."
