Leadtek specializes in GPU manufacturing and distribution, as well as AI, high-performance computing (HPC), data centers, medical and healthcare, and big data solutions. The company is one of NVIDIA's official strategic partners, having collaborated with NVIDIA for over 30 years.

Since 2017, Leadtek has also served as a global education partner for NVIDIA, providing GPU-based AI and computing education and continuing technical collaboration.

Leadtek Korea was established to drive business and technology cooperation in the Korean market. The company chose Wonju after comprehensively considering the region's industrial environment, which is home to a concentration of medical and healthcare companies and institutions, as well as its research and educational infrastructure.

Wonju City is currently discussing collaboration strategies such as GPU-based AI education and research, demonstration projects in digital healthcare, and partnerships linked to AI and data-driven industries, following the establishment of Leadtek Korea.

Wonju City and Leadtek Korea have signed a business agreement covering key areas such as cooperation in AI and GPU-based education, the creation of a GPU-based industrial ecosystem, and the expansion of global technology exchanges. They have also shared discussions on mid- to long-term directions for cooperation.

Going forward, Wonju City plans to administratively review ways to connect cooperation with global technology companies to local industries, education, and demonstration environments in accordance with relevant laws and procedures, and to continue policy and industrial discussions related to digital healthcare and AI in a phased manner.

Won Kangsoo, Mayor of Wonju, stated, "We will continue to administratively review the possibility of cooperation with global technology companies in accordance with relevant laws and procedures."
