[Weather] Mostly Cloudy Nationwide... Snow and Rain in Some Areas

On Monday the 29th, most regions across the country are expected to be mostly cloudy, with some areas experiencing snow or rain.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the expected snowfall is 2 to 7 centimeters in the mountainous areas of Gangwon, around 1 to 5 centimeters in inland Gangwon, and about 1 centimeter in northeastern Gyeonggi. The expected precipitation is around 5 millimeters in the Seoul metropolitan area, inland and mountainous Gangwon, and the Chungcheong region; less than 5 millimeters in North Jeolla; and about 1 millimeter in western and northeastern inland North Gyeongsang, mountainous North Gyeongsang, Ulleungdo, and Dokdo.


As of 5 a.m., the temperatures in major cities are as follows: Seoul 3.8°C, Incheon 5.1°C, Suwon 2.7°C, Chuncheon 0.9°C, Gangneung 8.0°C, Cheongju 2.9°C, Daejeon 1.5°C, Jeonju 3.3°C, Gwangju 3.1°C, Jeju 10.1°C, Daegu 0.2°C, Busan 8.0°C, Ulsan 4.7°C, and Changwon 4.1°C. Daytime highs are forecast to range from 5°C to 14°C.


Fine dust concentrations are expected to be 'bad' in the Seoul metropolitan area, Yeongseo in Gangwon, Chungcheong, Gwangju, North Jeolla, and Daegu, while other regions are expected to be at a 'moderate' level.


Waves in the seas are expected to range from 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the coastal waters of the East Sea, West Sea, and South Sea. In offshore areas (up to about 200 kilometers from the coastline), wave heights are expected to be 1.0 to 3.5 meters in the East Sea, and 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the West Sea and South Sea.
