The special investigation team of the National Police Agency summoned Mr. Park, former head of the Busan branch of the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) and director of the Korea-Japan Undersea Tunnel Research Association, as a reference witness for questioning starting at around 10:30 a.m. that day. The investigation lasted for about nine hours.
At around 7:20 p.m., Mr. Park left the police building without answering reporters' questions about whether he had discussed the Korea-Japan Undersea Tunnel with former Minister of Oceans and Fisheries Jeon Jae-soo, or whether he had any additional contact with the former minister.

He is also reported to have met with former Minister Jeon Jae-soo ahead of the 2020 general election, delivered the autobiography of Hak Ja Han, the leader of the Unification Church, and taken a photo together.
