[Weather] Severe Cold Continues Below Freezing Until Morning... Daytime Highs 0-8 Degrees

On Saturday, the 27th, due to the influence of cold air descending from the northwest, severe cold will persist, with temperatures dropping below minus 10 degrees Celsius, especially in the inland areas of central Korea.

The Korea Meteorological Administration forecast that morning temperatures in the central inland region will remain below freezing, but will gradually rise from midday, with daytime highs expected to reach between 0 and 8 degrees Celsius.

Between morning and afternoon on this day, light snow is expected to fall and accumulate in Seoul, Incheon, southern Gyeonggi, parts of northern Gyeonggi, southern inland Gangwon, and the Chungcheong region. In southern inland Gangwon and some parts of Chungcheong, snow will continue until nighttime.

Late at night, rain or snow is expected in northern Jeonbuk. The expected snowfall is around 1 cm in Incheon and southern Gyeonggi, less than 1 cm in Seoul and northern Gyeonggi, and around 1 cm in southern inland Gangwon, the Chungcheong region, and northeastern inland Jeonbuk.

On Sunday, the 28th, cloudy skies will prevail, especially in central regions, with rain or snow expected. From the afternoon, rain or snow will fall mainly in the capital area, central and northern inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, and the northern west coast of Chungnam. In the early morning, less than 0.1 cm of snow may fall in some parts of Chungnam, northern Jeonbuk, and northwestern inland Gyeongnam.

Morning lows will range from minus 6 to 2 degrees Celsius, and daytime highs will rise to between 2 and 12 degrees Celsius, recovering to average seasonal levels compared to the previous day.

As temperatures drop overnight, rain or snow that has fallen may freeze, creating icy roads and black ice in many areas, so extra caution is required for both drivers and pedestrians.

Meanwhile, wave heights are expected to be 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the coastal waters of the East Sea, and 0.5 to 1.0 meters in the coastal waters of the West and South Seas. In offshore waters, wave heights are expected to reach 0.5 to 2.5 meters in the East Sea and 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the West and South Seas.
