Student Council Leads Sharing Initiative
A Model for Expanding the Culture of Giving in Jeonnam
The Jeonnam Office of Education Dream Realization Foundation announced on the 26th that Wando Geumil Elementary School donated the entire proceeds from its student-led festival as the "Dream Realization Fund."
Last November, Geumil Elementary School held the "Friendship & Happiness Sharing Festival" organized by the student council, where students took the initiative in various sharing activities.

This festival was organized to foster communication and consideration among students and to cultivate a sense of community through a variety of experiential booths. After discussing how to use the festival proceeds, the student council decided to donate the entire amount to the foundation in order to put the value of sharing into practice.
Geumil Elementary School is an institution with students who are eligible for the Dream Realization Fund, making this an opportunity for students to learn the meaning of giving as their donations are delivered directly to their peers.
Principal Joo Sunhyuk of Geumil Elementary School said, "Just as the festival was planned and carried out by students, the Dream Realization Fund is also a scholarship that allows students to take the lead in designing their own dreams, making it highly meaningful for their growth. We will continue to support students in pursuing their dreams."
Director Lee Gilhun stated, "The warm sharing practiced by students through their small acts of kindness is becoming a driving force in transforming the culture of giving in the Jeonnam region. We will continue to expand a donation culture that everyone can participate in without burden, and consistently support students' dreams."
The foundation added that voluntary participation in donations is spreading, especially among schools in the province, and the "Dream Realization Seed Planting" campaign is ongoing.
