Donghae City was recognized as the top institution in Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province's "2025 Regional Construction Industry Revitalization Support Evaluation" for the second consecutive year and received an award from Gangwon Province on December 26.
This evaluation targeted 18 cities and counties within the province and comprehensively assessed a total of nine categories for construction projects worth over 500 million KRW and design service contracts exceeding 200 million KRW. The categories included the subcontracting rate of local companies, the use of local materials, equipment, and workforce, the level of interest from institutional heads, efforts to support the revitalization of the regional construction industry, and best practices, among others.
Donghae City received high marks for its active expansion of local company participation and strengthened use of provincial materials and equipment, thereby contributing to the revitalization of the local economy, following similar achievements in 2024.
Lee Dalhyeong, Head of the Construction Division, stated, "Being selected as the top institution for two consecutive years is the result of close cooperation with local construction companies," adding, "We will continue to do our best to enhance the competitiveness of the regional construction industry and to vitalize the local economy."
