Gangwon Office of Education Announces First-Round Passers for 2026 Secondary School Teacher Recruitment

267 Candidates Pass First Round in 18 Public School Subjects
Second Round to Include Practical Evaluation in January

On December 26, the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Provincial Office of Education announced on its website the list of candidates who passed the first round of the 2026 Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province secondary school teacher recruitment examination, including health, librarian, professional counseling, nutrition, and special (secondary) teachers, as well as the plan for the second round of the exam.

For the 2026 secondary school teacher recruitment exam, 1,070 applicants competed across 18 subjects. Of these, 267 candidates for public schools and 49 candidates for private schools passed the first round.

The number of successful public school candidates by subject in the first round is as follows: Korean Language 26 (17), Mathematics 21 (14), Physics 8 (7), Chemistry 5 (3), Biology 12 (8), Earth Science 13 (8), Social Studies 20 (13), History 14 (9), Geography 14 (9), Ethics and Morality 12 (8), Physical Education 25 (15), English 21 (13), Information and Computer 12 (9), Special (Secondary) 5 (3), Health 22 (14), Librarian 5 (3), Professional Counseling 8 (5), and Nutrition 24 (16).

The number of successful private school candidates by foundation in the first round is as follows: Kangil Academy 13 (3), Gwanghee Academy 5 (1), Daeseong Academy 2 (1), Sangji Mun Academy 9 (4), Sangji Academy 5 (2), Yangrok Academy 1 (3), Yubong Academy 5 (3), Jeonin Academy 8 (2), and Jingwang Academy 1 (1).

The second round of the exam will be held as follows: practical evaluation on January 14, 2026 (only for those who passed the first round in Physical Education), class demonstration on January 20, and in-depth interview on teaching aptitude on January 21.
