2000s Dramas Restored in 4K Ultra High Definition

On December 26, Samsung Electronics announced that it is operating the 'All-in-One AI Integrated Channel' on Samsung TV Plus, which allows viewers to watch popular dramas from the 2000s in high definition using artificial intelligence (AI). Dramas that were originally filmed in low resolution have been restored to ultra-high-definition 4K quality through generative AI-based upscaling technology. This enables the younger generation to enjoy classic masterpieces, once beloved by their parents, together in high definition.

The newly launched content includes masterpieces that represent the 2000s, such as 'Autumn in My Heart,' 'Successful Story of a Bright Girl,' and 'Damo.' Additional dramas, including 'Winter Sonata,' 'Rooftop Room Cat,' and 'Tomato,' will be released sequentially in the future.

On the 'All-in-One AI Integrated Channel,' Samsung Electronics provides generative AI-powered features such as video upscaling, audio remastering, plot introductions, and episode recaps. The 'video upscaling' feature removes noise, enhances color expression, and strengthens detail, presenting the emotional essence of 2000s dramas in high-quality visuals suited to today's viewing environment. The 'audio remastering' feature uses AI to separate character voices from background sounds, improving clarity, while the 'AI synopsis' feature summarizes each episode's storyline to help viewers follow the plot.

Samsung Electronics plans to further expand Samsung TV Plus as a platform that modernizes classic dramas.
