Achieving Ultra-High Resolution and High Refresh Rates
with Built-In AI Solution
LG Electronics is introducing the next-generation gaming monitor, 'LG UltraGear Evo,' which features an artificial intelligence (AI) solution built directly into the monitor itself. With the advanced on-device AI solution, LG Electronics aims to further strengthen its leadership in the global premium gaming market by highlighting the evolved LG UltraGear Evo.
On December 26, LG Electronics announced that it will unveil three models in the UltraGear Evo monitor lineup-27-inch, 39-inch, and 52-inch-at CES 2026, the world’s largest home appliance and information technology (IT) exhibition. The 27-inch and 39-inch UltraGear Evo monitors are equipped with an on-device AI solution. A key feature is '5K AI Upscaling,' which allows all video content to be enjoyed in 5K clarity. This technology achieves 5K resolution independently, without requiring a graphics processing unit (GPU) upgrade for the PC. These models also include an 'AI Scene Optimization' function, where the AI automatically detects the genre of the video and applies the optimal settings. Additionally, the 'AI Sound' feature provides the best audio environment. Even without any manual adjustments by the user, the AI distinguishes between sound effects, music, and voices, and automatically calibrates custom sound profiles, delivering an enhanced audio experience tailored to the video content.
The 27-inch and 39-inch monitors also feature a 'Dual Mode' function, allowing users to switch between high-resolution mode and high-refresh-rate mode as needed. For visually rich, high-definition games or videos, users can select the high-resolution mode; for fast-paced games or watching sports, the high-refresh-rate mode (which increases the number of images displayed per second) provides the optimal viewing experience. The 27-inch model supports a high-resolution mode at 5K and 165Hz, as well as a Quad High Definition (QHD) high-refresh-rate mode at 330Hz. The 39-inch model offers a Wide Ultra HD (WUHD) high-resolution mode at 165Hz and a Wide Full HD (WFHD) high-refresh-rate mode at 330Hz.

The 27-inch UltraGear Evo monitor is equipped with a 5K mini LED panel, while the 39-inch UltraGear Evo monitor features a curved 5K2K OLED display with a 1500R curvature (indicating a curvature radius of 1,500mm), providing an immersive viewing experience. For gamers who prefer a larger screen, the 52-inch UltraGear Evo monitor is fitted with a curved 5K2K display with a 1000R curvature. With a 21:9 aspect ratio and a high refresh rate of up to 240Hz, this large display delivers an immersive experience suitable for the latest games.
Lee Chung-hwan, Executive Vice President and Head of the Display Business Division at LG Electronics, stated, "The new premium gaming lineup, 'LG UltraGear Evo,' enables gamers to enjoy performance, clarity, and immersion through innovative technologies such as 5K AI Upscaling," adding, "We will deliver a next-level gaming experience to customers worldwide."
