Mapo District Mayor and Seoul Police Chief Inspect Safety at Red Road

On-Site Inspections for Year-End Crowds
Special Safety Management in Place Until the 31st

On the evening of December 24, Park Gangsu, Mayor of Mapo District in Seoul, visited the Red Road area on Christmas Eve to inspect the on-site safety management system in preparation for large crowds during the year-end and New Year period.

On the same day, Park Jeongbo, Commissioner of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, also visited Red Road as part of special year-end and New Year crime prevention activities. He patrolled the area to check for safety risks and crime vulnerabilities associated with large gatherings.

Mayor Park met with Commissioner Park to share cooperation measures for safety management, including strengthening advance guidance, encouraging right-side walking, and managing congested sections. They reaffirmed the principle of "on-site, response-oriented action" during the year-end and New Year period.

Mayor Park Gangsu stated, "During the year-end and New Year period, including Christmas Eve today, even minor congestion can quickly escalate into danger. The district, together with the police and other relevant agencies, will conduct on-site inspections from advance guidance to route management and congestion response, aiming to ensure a safe and accident-free holiday season."

To mark the year-end and New Year period, Mapo District is conducting special safety management in the Red Road area from December 19 to 31. Every day from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. the following day, the district is implementing phased crowd management, traffic control, and safety campaigns.
