President Lee's Approval Rating at 59%... Democratic Party 41%, People Power Party 20% [NBS]

National Barometer Survey (NBS) Poll Results
Approval Rating Drops by 3 Percentage Points Compared to Two Weeks Ago

A poll released on December 25 showed that the approval rating for President Lee Jaemyung's administration stood at 59%, marking a slight decrease compared to two weeks ago.


According to the National Barometer Survey (NBS) conducted by Embrain Public, KSTAT Research, Korea Research, and Hankook Research from December 22 to 24 among 1,003 adults aged 18 and older, 59% of respondents gave a positive assessment of President Lee's administration. This represents a 3 percentage point drop from the previous survey conducted two weeks earlier. The results were released on the same day.

The rate of negative assessments was 32%, which is a 2 percentage point increase from the previous survey.


Regarding the direction of President Lee Jaemyung's government, 58% of respondents said it is "moving in the right direction" (including both "very" and "somewhat" responses), while 35% said it is "moving in the wrong direction" (including both "very" and "somewhat" responses).


By political party support, the Democratic Party of Korea recorded 41% and the People Power Party recorded 20%. During the same period, support for the Democratic Party fell by 3 percentage points, while support for the People Power Party remained unchanged. The Reform New Party recorded 4%, and the Cho Kuk Innovation Party recorded 3% in party support.


The NBS survey was conducted through telephone interviews using 100% mobile virtual numbers. The margin of error is ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level. The response rate was 15.2%. For more details, refer to the website of the National Election Survey Deliberation Commission.
