This semester, the Department of Nursing at Tongmyong University ran the CO-UP program under the theme “Ethics Compass: Finding Direction” for students enrolled in the Nursing Ethics Seminar course. Participating students revisited the fundamental ethical concepts they had learned in the prerequisite course, Introduction to Nursing. Each team engaged in a variety of activities to enhance their learning abilities, including ethical judgment, case-based discussions, and problem-solving-centered tasks.

Team leader Hwang Younghye shared, “Participating in the program allowed me to deeply reflect on the process of ethical judgment as a nursing student, and it was a meaningful experience to develop the competencies needed in real-world settings on my own.”

Professor Lee Kyungeun, the supervising professor, stated, “I believe that nursing ethics education based on advanced learning has greatly contributed to cultivating the ethical awareness required of professional nurses. We will continue to expand student-participatory ethics education models to nurture value-driven nursing professionals equipped with ethical decision-making capabilities.”
