On December 22 and 23, Mayor Kim Byungsoo visited the 17th Infantry Division of the Army, the 2nd Marine Division, the Capital Artillery Brigade, and the Gimpo Fire Station. He is also scheduled to visit the 10th Air Defense Battalion of the Capital Corps and the 8542nd Air Force Unit in succession. This visit was organized to express gratitude to the soldiers and personnel who have carried out their duties on the front lines of regional security and citizen safety throughout the year, and to boost their morale.
Mayor Kim communicated directly with frontline workers, listened to their concerns, and offered words of warm encouragement. In particular, he expressed deep appreciation for the soldiers and firefighters who, in addition to maintaining thorough readiness at all times, have taken the lead in rapid response and recovery efforts during disasters and emergencies, thereby protecting the lives and property of citizens.
Mayor Kim Byungsoo stated, "Soldiers and firefighters are the strongest pillars supporting the daily lives of our citizens. On behalf of Gimpo's 500,000 residents, I sincerely thank you for being the first to respond and dedicate yourselves in times of disaster, emergency, and crisis."
He added, "Gimpo City will continue to strengthen citizen safety through close cooperation with related agencies."
