Four-Story Facility Completed
On December 24, Muju County in North Jeolla Province held a completion ceremony for the 'Generation Empathy Harmony Center,' a resident communication and cultural activity space established as part of the Muju-eup Urban Regeneration New Deal Project.
The event, hosted and organized by the Mujinjang branch of Korea Rural Community Corporation, was attended by Hwang Inhong, Governor of Muju County, Oh Gwangseok, Chairman of the Muju County Council, Provincial Assemblyman Yoon Junghoon, Woo Jonguk, Chairman of the Muju-eup Residents' Council, and approximately 100 local residents.
The attendees participated in a commemorative ceremony that included a progress report on the project and toured the facilities on each floor of the four-story building, which has a total floor area of 749 square meters.
The Generation Empathy Harmony Center began construction in 2024 and was completed on December 15. After obtaining approval for building use, the facility will be entrusted to and operated by the Muju County Urban Regeneration Support Center and the Muju Village Management Social Cooperative starting in the first half of next year.
The first floor of the Generation Empathy Harmony Center houses club rooms, the second floor features an instructor's office, lecture rooms, and additional club rooms, and the third floor will accommodate the office of the Muju County Urban Regeneration Support Center. The fourth floor has been developed as a communal living space with four units.
Governor Hwang Inhong stated, "The Muju-eup Urban Regeneration New Deal Project is not simply about constructing facilities; it is a process of restoring residents' daily lives and communities and creating a sustainable future for the region. With the completion of the Generation Empathy Harmony Center, we will continue to steadily promote the establishment of the Lifestyle Culture Harmony Center and the Youth Center, so that even greater vitality can be brought to Muju-eup and Muju County as a whole."
