40 Million Won Donated to Support
Dental Treatment for Low-Income Children and Adolescents
and Provide Walking Aids for Seniors
Yeosu City, South Jeolla Province, announced that on the 23rd, LG Chem Yeosu Plant (Executive Director Lee Hyungyu) and Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (Acting President Hwang Hakbeom) delivered certificates of donation to support dental treatment for low-income children and adolescents, as well as to provide walking aids for the elderly. Each organization contributed 20 million won, totaling 40 million won.
The donation certificate presentation ceremony was attended by the mayor of Yeosu, Lee Hyungyu, Executive Director of LG Chem Yeosu Plant, Kim Ilyoung, Head of the Win-Win Communication Department at Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority, and Kim Jongjin, Director of Ssangbong General Social Welfare Center, among others, who gathered to share the spirit of public-private partnership and giving.

This donation will be allocated as follows: 30 million won will be used for the "Dream, Hope Smile" project, which supports dental treatment and oral disease care for low-income children and adolescents in the region, and 10 million won will be used for the "Hope Sharing Silver Car of Love" project, which provides walking aids to low-income seniors aged 65 and over who have mobility difficulties.
In particular, the "Dream, Hope Smile" project is a public-private partnership welfare initiative that has continued for six years since July 2020, when five organizations-Yeosu City, LG Chem Yeosu Plant, Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority, Yeosu Dental Association, and Ssangbong General Social Welfare Center-signed a business agreement.
A city official stated, "Through this sponsorship, we are able to support the healthy growth of children and adolescents, as well as the safe daily lives of seniors, providing practical help. The continued participation of companies greatly contributes to spreading a culture of sharing within the local community."
Meanwhile, thanks to the support from LG Chem Yeosu Plant and Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority, dental treatment has been provided to 670 low-income children and adolescents, and walking aids have been distributed to 330 low-income seniors aged 65 and over since 2020.
