Hyundai Motor Group Appoints First Female President Jin Eun-sook as ICT Chief, Ryu Sukmoon Named CEO of AutoEver

Hyundai Motor Group announced on the 24th that it has promoted Executive Vice President Jin Eun-sook, who was in charge of ICT, to President in order to strengthen the group’s software competitiveness and IT capabilities.

Since joining as Head of the ICT Division in 2022, President Jin has led the group’s IT innovation strategies, including the integration of the Global One App and the establishment of the next-generation ERP system. With diverse experience in the ICT industry, including serving as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at NHN, she has developed expertise and a global perspective in key areas such as cloud, data, and platforms. She has spearheaded the innovation of Hyundai Motor Group’s IT ecosystem and has also taken the lead in establishing a developer-centric organizational culture.


Going forward, President Jin is expected to further advance the group’s IT system and infrastructure development and operational capabilities, accelerating digital transformation and providing pivotal leadership in formulating and executing future group IT strategies.


Notably, after being appointed in March as Hyundai Motor Company’s first female inside director and the first IT expert to serve as an inside director, she has now become the company’s first female president.


In addition, Hyundai AutoEver has appointed and nominated Sukmoon Ryu, formerly Executive Vice President and a developer by background, as its new CEO to enhance technological and quality competitiveness.

Since joining Hyundai AutoEver last year, the new CEO Ryu has led the Software Platform Division, spearheading key projects such as IT system and platform development and vehicle software development.


Leveraging his expertise as a software developer, he has also worked to innovate the development culture and foster outstanding developers. He is expected to further enhance software innovation synergy at the group level by strengthening technology- and quality-centered competitiveness. Having previously served as CTO of Socar and Technical Director at Riot Games, he is recognized for his outstanding technological leadership in the IT and mobility sectors.


A Hyundai Motor Group official stated, "It is notable that leaders with technological and development expertise in software and IT have been placed at the forefront," adding, "We will strengthen technology-driven management and continue group-level investments to transform into a software-centered mobility company."
