"Formation of East Asian Youth and the State" as the Theme
The Global China Institute of Pukyong National University and the Northeast Asia Center of Seoul National University have joined forces.
The Global China Institute of Pukyong National University (Director: Lee Bogoo) held a joint international academic conference with the Northeast Asia Center of the Asia Center at Seoul National University (Director: Kim Baekyoung) on December 19 at Somin Hall in the Mirae Building.

This international academic conference brought together researchers from 10 domestic and international institutions, including both organizing institutes, Shanghai University, Yan'an University, National Kaohsiung University, National Taiwan University, National Kaohsiung Normal University, Keiwa Gakuen University, Kanagawa University, and Cocone Institute. Under the theme "Formation of East Asian Youth and the State," participants delivered presentations and engaged in discussions.
The Humanities Korea 3.0 (HK3.0) Project Group of the Global China Institute at Pukyong National University organized this event with the support of the National Research Foundation of Korea to promote the research agenda of "East Asian Youth Studies."
The event, held both online and offline, featured sessions on "Youth Studies Discourse," "Youth Studies Affect," and "Youth Studies Media," offering a multifaceted look at the realities of East Asian youth, including phenomena such as Tangping, struggle, inner circle, Yankee manga, and landmine fashion.
At the subsequent dinner, participants held a networking event and agreed to connect and collaborate on research centered on the agenda of East Asian Youth Studies.
Following this event, the Humanities Korea 3.0 (HK3.0) Project Group of the Global China Institute at Pukyong National University plans to expand its programs next year, including launching a Humanities Living Lab (Asia Regional Youth Center) to directly engage with youth in the East Asian region.
