The opening ceremony for the Europe Fulfillment Center was held on the 15th (local time) in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and was attended by key local stakeholders, including Hanjin President Cho Hyunmin and President and CEO Nam Samseok. Hanjin's new center is located 10 minutes from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport and one hour from the Port of Rotterdam.
The center, which was completed in October, is a state-of-the-art facility operated as a "hybrid hub" that handles both B2B and B2C logistics. It is capable of large-scale B2B cargo storage for local distribution networks, as well as continuous management and processing of locally direct-shipped B2C products.
Through this hub, Hanjin will provide "comprehensive logistics solutions" to Korean brands seeking to enter Europe. The company will offer packaging and labeling services tailored to the inbound requirements of global platforms such as TikTok and Amazon, as well as local offline channels. In addition, Hanjin will manage detailed B2C logistics, including order fulfillment for brand-owned online stores, and connect last-mile delivery services across Europe.
Hanjin will also actively support the resolution of complex customs clearance and value-added tax issues, which are considered the biggest barriers to entering the European market. The company plans to offer additional services covering everything from establishing a local corporation and tax filing to responding to local regulations.
Going forward, Hanjin plans to develop related business models such as air forwarding to Korea and transatlantic routes. Through these efforts, Hanjin aims to complete a logistics network connecting its European hub with its global network, including Los Angeles in the United States and the Incheon Global Distribution Center.
