Hamyang County Holds Briefing Session for 2026 Land Readjustment Project for Residents

Resolving Land Disputes with Digital Cadastral Mapping
of Actual Land Boundaries in Use

Hamyang County in South Gyeongsang Province held a resident briefing session for the “2026 Land Readjustment Project District” from December 19 to 23, with over 70 landowners in attendance.

The land readjustment project is a national initiative implemented until 2030 to resolve land disputes arising from discrepancies between actual land conditions and cadastral map boundaries, and to promote efficient land management.

For the 2026 project, Hamyang County has selected five districts-Macheon Uijung, Jigok Deogam, Jigok Hyosan 1 and 2, and Byeonggok Wonsan-with a total of 947 parcels covering approximately 327,770 square meters. The entire surveying cost of 205 million won will be funded by the national government.

During the resident briefing session, the county provided information on the purpose and procedures of the land readjustment project, as well as matters requiring residents’ cooperation, and held a Q&A session to address residents’ questions.

Going forward, the county will apply for district designation to South Gyeongsang Province after obtaining consent from at least two-thirds of the landowners, conduct cadastral surveys, and proceed with procedures such as boundary adjustments, submission of opinions, and filing of objections. For land parcels with changes in area, the project will be completed after processes such as determining adjustment payments through appraisal.

A Hamyang County official stated, “By rectifying boundaries that did not match the actual land conditions through the land readjustment project, we expect to resolve disputes among landowners and greatly contribute to protecting the property rights of county residents. We ask for the active interest and cooperation of all landowners.”
