The award-winning paper, titled "A Study on the Locality and Revitalization Strategies of Cable TV Local Channels: Focusing on Three Cable Broadcasting Companies in Busan," was highly praised for analyzing the operational status of Busan’s cable TV local channels, comparing and reviewing methods of implementing locality and various establishment projects, and proposing practical alternatives to respond to the rapidly changing media environment.

The study drew attention as an empirical research that went beyond literature-based theoretical analysis by faithfully reflecting the voices of field broadcasting professionals. The paper specifically addressed the production environment and structural issues of local cable broadcasting, as well as the limitations and possibilities of locally tailored content, and was evaluated as having proposed realistic revitalization strategies that enable local broadcasters to secure both public value and competitiveness.

The Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Press Association (headed by Professor Lee Sangho) has consistently pursued research focused on the public value of local media and field-oriented studies, and stated that meaningful discussions are expected to continue across local media policies and broadcasting practices in the future.

At the award ceremony, Professor Nam Kyungtae of Kyungsung University was also honored with the Best Paper Award, and Professor Moon Jaehak of Silla University was elected as the 34th president for the next term.

Professor Jeong Miyeong remarked, "I believe the answers to both the crisis and potential of local broadcasting ultimately lie in the field," and added, "I hope this research will serve as an opportunity for local cable TV and local media to reconnect and grow together with the local community."

The Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Press Association conducts a rigorous review of papers published in its journal, "Region and Communication," and annually presents the Best Paper Award, continuing to play a central role in media research that highlights the value of communication with the local community.
