Namwon City in North Jeolla Province opened the 'Bandabi Sports Center' on the 23rd, a facility where people with and without disabilities can participate together.
According to the city on the 23rd, the Bandabi Sports Center is an integrated community sports facility where people with and without disabilities can enjoy sports activities without discrimination. The opening ceremony was attended by officials from the Namwon City Sports Association for the Disabled, disability organizations, and many sports professionals.

The city was selected in 2023 for the 'Community-Based National Sports Center Project' hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and invested a total of 6.8 billion won to establish the Bandabi Sports Center.
Key facilities include a 250-pyeong multipurpose gymnasium on the first floor, suitable for badminton and table tennis, and on the second floor, rooms for showdown, vision table tennis, billiards, a fitness center, and a virtual reality sports room.
In addition, to address the parking shortage that had been an issue during various events and competitions, the city expanded parking capacity from 109 to 175 spaces, an increase of 66 spaces.
With the opening of the Bandabi Sports Center, it is expected that athletes with disabilities in Namwon will have a more stable and professional environment for training, further revitalizing sports for people with disabilities in the region.
A city official stated, "We will support people with and without disabilities to come together at the Bandabi Sports Center and achieve greater dreams and accomplishments."
