Iksan City in North Jeolla Province will hold the "2026 Baekje Royal Palace Sunrise Event" at 7:00 a.m. on January 1, 2026, at the UNESCO World Heritage Baekje Royal Palace (Wanggung-ri Historic Site).
According to the city on December 23, this event has been organized to offer citizens a special start to the new year at the royal palace, where the splendid history of Baekje still lives on.
The event will begin at 7:00 a.m. with the "Dawn Wish Sharing" session. Citizens will share warm tea, hang wish notes expressing their hopes, and pray for peace and good fortune in the new year.
This will be followed by a sunrise yoga performance to awaken both body and mind in the early morning. The Iksan City Choir will perform twice, at 7:20 a.m. and 7:50 a.m., filling the new year's morning with resonant songs.
