Levels 8 to 9 Result in “Disqualification”
Kwangwoon University will recruit a total of 808 students for the 2026 regular admissions: 245 in Group A, 139 in Group B, and 424 in Group C.
The admissions tracks for “Rural Students (outside the quota),” “Specialized High School Graduates,” and “Employed Graduates of Specialized High Schools” will transfer any unfilled spots from the early admission round to the regular admissions. The final number of available spots, adjusted according to the results of the early admission round, will be announced on the university admissions website on December 28, the day before the application period begins.
For the “General Student Track” and “Rural Student Track (outside the quota)” in Groups A, B, and C, as well as the “Equal Opportunity Track (within the quota)” and “Specialized High School Graduate Track (outside the quota)” in Groups A and B, admissions will be based 100% on the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) scores. For the “General Student Track - Sports Convergence Science Major” in Group C, the first round selection will be based on a combination of 60% CSAT and 40% school records, and the second round will combine 70% of the first round score with 30% from a practical skills test. The “Employed Graduates of Specialized High Schools Track” (both within and outside the quota) under the comprehensive student record screening will be based 100% on a holistic document review, with no minimum CSAT score requirement.
Kwangwoon University will also recruit students for advanced majors, including the Semiconductor Systems Engineering Major in the School of Semiconductor Systems Engineering (College of Electronic and Information Engineering), the AI Robotics Major in the Department of Robotics (College of Artificial Intelligence Convergence), and the Big Data Management Major in the School of Business Administration (College of Business).
Additionally, a total of 403 students-257 in the Interdisciplinary Studies Program (Natural Sciences) and 146 in the Interdisciplinary Studies Program (Humanities)-will be selected through the Group C General Student Track based on CSAT scores. Students admitted to the Interdisciplinary Studies Program can choose any major after admission without restrictions by academic division, and there are no limits on the number of students per major, allowing entry into any desired department (with a few exceptions).
Starting this year, a new policy has been introduced to reflect disciplinary actions for school violence. For the “General Student Track,” “General Student Track - Sports Convergence Science Major,” “Equal Opportunity Track,” “Rural Student Track,” and “Specialized High School Graduate Track,” a deduction of 3 points (0.3% of the total score) will be applied for disciplinary actions of levels 1 to 3, 30 points (3%) for levels 4 to 5, and 50 points (5%) for levels 6 to 7. Levels 8 to 9 will result in disqualification.
For the “Employed Graduates of Specialized High Schools Track” under the comprehensive student record screening, the evaluation will be conducted qualitatively during the document review process.
CSAT scores will be evaluated using standard scores and converted standard scores. For mathematics and science subjects, additional points will be awarded depending on the applicant pool for each track. Applications will be accepted online only, from 10:00 a.m. on December 29 to 5:00 p.m. on December 31. The first round of successful candidates for the “General Track - Sports Convergence Science Major” will be announced at 3:00 p.m. on January 19, 2026, and the final list of admitted students will be released at 3:00 p.m. on February 2, 2026, both on the university admissions website.
