The evaluation comprehensively assessed the performance of direct agricultural product transactions among cities and counties in the province. Key criteria included the performance of online shopping malls compared to overall on- and offline sales, the number of offline direct transaction events held and their sales figures, and participation in North Gyeongsang Province’s direct transaction promotion projects.
Yeongju City achieved outstanding results by establishing a stable sales channel centered on its online agricultural product shopping mall, "Yeongjujangnal." In 2024, "Yeongjujangnal" recorded sales of 7.2 billion won, ranking first among online shopping malls in the province. The platform continued its growth in 2025, reaching 7.1 billion won in sales as of November. This performance has been recognized as making a significant contribution to increasing local farmers' income and strengthening the competitiveness of Yeongju City's agricultural distribution.
Additionally, the city's active participation in various direct transaction markets and events consistently expanded offline sales and enhanced trust between producers and consumers, which also received positive evaluations. As part of North Gyeongsang Province’s direct transaction promotion project, Yeongju City held the "Baro Market North Gyeongsang Province Branch: Yeongju City Day" to actively promote and sell local agricultural products, which was cited as another reason for the award.
Kang Maeyoung, Head of the Distribution Support Division of Yeongju City, stated, "This award is the result of the dedicated efforts of local farmers who have steadfastly participated in direct transactions. We will continue to expand the foundation for direct transactions so that farmers can focus on stable production and sales, and we will do our utmost to support distribution that leads to increased farm income."
