Purifies Air While Moving: Wellness Robot "NamuX"
Performance Equivalent to Ten Air Purifiers
SK Intelecs' "NamuX" Gains Popularity
Over 2,000 Units Sold in Just One Month
The wellness robot 'NamuX' (NAMUHX), recently introduced by SK Incellix, is gaining popularity. Since its launch, the product has received positive reviews for its effectiveness, as it autonomously locates sources of pollution and purifies the air based on autonomous driving and 100% voice control features. This robot, which moves throughout spaces to purify the air, has been analyzed to deliver the same effect as ten air purifiers.
SK Incellix announced on December 23 that NamuX surpassed 2,000 units in sales just one month after its release on October 30. Despite being a new concept product in the wellness robot category, it exceeded the company’s internal sales targets.
The main factor behind the product’s popularity is the efficiency of its mobile air solution. According to a joint study by Professor Kim Taeyeon’s team at Yonsei University and SK Incellix, which is in its final stages, a single stationary air purifier takes 146 minutes to complete a task that NamuX can finish in just 15 minutes. Because it detects polluted areas in real time and moves autonomously to purify them, it can clean the air ten times faster. The rapid purification also results in an 87% reduction in annual energy costs. It is explained that one NamuX unit can replace the performance of ten stationary air purifiers.
Additionally, by following pollutants before they spread throughout an indoor space, NamuX was found to reduce pollution levels by 98% more than a single stationary air purifier. When comparing the maximum concentration of poor air quality in a 99-square-meter space, the stationary purifier recorded 311 ?g/m³, while NamuX recorded just 7 ?g/m³.
SK Incellix explained that this study, which compared and analyzed the fine dust removal performance and purification time of the autonomous mobile air solution and stationary air purifiers, provided quantitative performance indicators in real-world environments, thereby empirically proving NamuX’s efficiency. The results of this analysis will be reflected in future product design and the advancement of air purification technology.
NamuX not only offers air purification functions but also integrates various wellness solutions based on artificial intelligence (AI) technology. It features a 'vital sign check' function, which uses non-contact remote photoplethysmography (rPPG) technology to measure five key health indicators-body temperature, heart activity, pulse, oxygen saturation, and stress index-in less than ten seconds. Additional features include 'wellness mode,' which operates according to various daily scenarios. An SK Incellix representative stated, "We plan to expand our services into diverse wellness areas such as security, beauty, meditation, pet care, and sleep care, further developing NamuX into an integrated platform."
