The team behind Jeong Wise, who has been introducing vegetarian recipes, has voiced frustration, claiming that Jeong Wise's recipe was used without permission on a general programming channel broadcast. The controversy is spreading as claims have emerged that even the amount of water and composition of ingredients were identical.

On December 21, a post was uploaded to Jeong Wise's YouTube channel community board stating, "A dish identical to Jeong Wise's Janchi Guksu was broadcast on a certain general programming channel on December 7." The author asserted, "From splitting whole potatoes in half and adding them to the broth, seasoning with wolfberry powder, to placing fresh spinach on top and pouring hot broth over it, the method was exactly the same as Jeong Wise's original cooking technique." The post further claimed, "Even the ingredients and quantities listed in the 'see more' section of the recipe were identical."

The author continued, "It was extremely shocking and deeply upsetting to see a dish developed over decades of Jeong Wise's vegetarian practice suddenly transformed into a celebrity's recipe. I felt very sorry for Jeong Wise." The post explained, "To clarify the facts, we submitted an inquiry to the broadcasting station's viewer board, requested a rights infringement review from the Korea Communications Commission, and sent a certified document, but have yet to receive any response from the production team."

The team behind Jeong Wise stated that, in light of this incident, they have now added copyright notices to the descriptions of their YouTube videos. They added, "Although this alone may not prevent recipe copying, we feel it is the minimum we can do to protect the chef's creative rights."

They further emphasized, "We wholeheartedly welcome subscribers who recreate Jeong Wise's dishes or share them while clearly citing the source. However, we will not tolerate the unauthorized use of recipes for profit without attribution. We intend to pursue this matter to the end."

Jeong Wise has been preparing meals using seasonal vegetables and healthy ingredients at Silsangsa Temple, located at the foot of Gwanaksan in Seoul, and has received steady support for the book 'Jeong Wise's Light Table.' Since 2022, Jeong Wise has also been introducing simple vegetarian recipes through the YouTube channel 'Jeong Wise's Vegetable Meal.'

The broadcast in question, which the Jeong Wise team raised concerns about, aired on December 7 and featured a well-known celebrity presenting their own recipe. Since the release of the video, there has been a growing number of comments demanding an explanation.
