All Departments Except Medicine and Pharmacy: Each CSAT Section Weighted Equally at 25%
Four Subject Areas Reflected at the Same Ratio, Major Transfer Significantly Expanded
Keimyung University (President Shin Ilhee) will begin accepting applications for the 2026 regular admissions for new students from December 29 to 31, 2025.
This year's regular admissions will select a total of 520 students, which includes 512 students (11.1% of the total 4,622 available spots) and 8 students for special quotas.
The university will recruit 190 students in Group A, 44 in Group B, and 278 in Group C. For special quotas, the School of Medicine and the Department of Nursing will select 6 students through the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) for rural applicants and 2 students for the School of Medicine through the CSAT (equal opportunity track).
For both the Humanities & Social Sciences and Science & Engineering tracks, the admissions criteria are based 100% on CSAT scores, reflecting the percentile scores for each subject area.
For the inquiry section, the average percentile score of two subjects will be applied.
Applicants may apply to only one department per group, and cross-application between tracks is allowed.
There are no minimum CSAT score requirements.
For the practical and performance-based (Arts & Physical Education) tracks, starting this year, the selection has moved from Group A to Group C, with 20% based on CSAT and 80% on practical skills.
If there are unfilled spots in the College of Music and Performing Arts after the early admissions, these will be carried over to the regular admissions and filled through the CSAT (general track).
The four CSAT subject areas will each be weighted equally at 25%; however, applicants for the Science & Engineering track and the Interdisciplinary Major will receive an additional 5% bonus for the Science Inquiry section.
However, for the School of Medicine and the College of Pharmacy, starting this year, the weighting has changed to 25% Korean, 30% Mathematics, 20% English, and 25% Inquiry. Applicants must take Mathematics (Calculus or Geometry) and two Science Inquiry subjects. No additional bonus points are given.
For the Arts & Physical Education track, applicants may choose either Korean or Mathematics (40%), with English (30%) and Inquiry (30%) also considered.
For the English section, the university will use its own percentile scores, and starting this year, the deduction per grade for a first-grade score will be reduced from the previous 5 points to 2-4 points.
As a result, the grade intervals for the English section have narrowed compared to last year, which is expected to ease the burden on applicants.
Korean History is a mandatory subject, and bonus points are awarded based on grade.
For Humanities & Social Sciences and Science & Engineering tracks, grades 1 and 2 in Korean History earn 5 points, grades 3 and 4 earn 4.5 points, with a 0.5-point deduction for every two-grade drop. For Arts & Physical Education, grades 1 and 2 earn 3.75 points, with a 0.375-point deduction for every two-grade drop.
As in the previous year, all students who are initially admitted through the CSAT (general track) in the regular admissions will receive a special scholarship for new students. Detailed information can be found on the admissions office website or in the admissions guide.
For the School of Medicine (Group C), 15 students will be selected through the general track, 3 through the rural track, and 2 through the equal opportunity track. For the College of Pharmacy (Group C), 6 students will be selected through the general track.
Applicants may apply to up to three departments, one per group, in the regular admissions, so it is important to carefully consider your choices and develop a strategic application plan.
Keimyung University will recruit students for the Interdisciplinary Major, Department of Economics & Finance, and Department of Business Administration (Evening) in Group B.
In addition, if your CSAT scores are not sufficient for competitive departments such as the Department of Police Administration, Department of Psychology, Department of Innovative Drug Development, Department of Electronic Engineering, Department of Computer Engineering, and Department of Game Software, you may consider applying through the Interdisciplinary Major as an alternative route.
The Interdisciplinary Major will select 25 students without distinguishing between Humanities & Social Sciences and Science & Engineering tracks, and all admitted students are guaranteed admission to one of the departments within the Interdisciplinary Major.
However, the Department of Police Administration will accept up to 50 students, and the Department of Innovative Drug Development will accept up to 15 students.
Applicants wishing to enter these two departments should note that they may also transfer into them in the second semester after completing the first semester of their first year.
Since last year, Keimyung University has significantly expanded its transfer system, now allowing transfers from the second semester of the first year instead of the previous first semester of the third year, and has removed the limit on the number of transfers.
With over 90 diverse departments, Keimyung University also allows transfers from evening to daytime departments (excluding the School of Medicine, Department of Nursing, and College of Pharmacy), which can be another strategic option. For example, students admitted to the Department of Business Administration (Evening) may transfer to a daytime department.
Since unfilled spots from the early admissions will be carried over before the regular admissions application period, applicants should check the final number of available spots.
In particular, attention should be paid to changes in the number of spots in departments that only recruit through early admissions and those with special quotas.
Do Dalhyun, Dean of Admissions (Professor, Department of Materials Science and Engineering), stated, "Regular admissions differ by university in terms of the CSAT score weighting, and the methods for reflecting English and Korean History scores, so it is essential to consider these factors when developing your application strategy. It is important to refer to the previous year's admissions results, changes in each university's academic structure, and any changes in the number of available spots and groups when planning your strategy."
Keimyung University's regular admissions application period will run from December 29 to 6:00 p.m. on December 31, 2025, and applications can be submitted through the university's admissions office website and Uwayapply.
The practical skills test for the practical and performance-based (Arts & Physical Education) track is scheduled for January 21, 2026.
