Department of Biomedical Science to Admit 7 Students in Ga Group Regular Admissions
Seoul National University of Science and Technology will recruit a total of 764 students for the 2026 regular admissions: 312 in the Ga group, 396 in the Na group, and 56 in the Da group.
The Ga group includes 69 students for the School of Interdisciplinary Studies (College of Engineering) and 19 for the School of Interdisciplinary Studies (College of Creative Convergence). The Na group includes 28 students for the School of Interdisciplinary Studies (College of Information and Communication), 14 for the School of Interdisciplinary Studies (College of Energy and Biotechnology), 15 for the Department of Sports Science (which also requires a practical skills test), and 111 for the College of Art and Design. The Da group will select 36 students for the College of Creative Convergence and 20 for the ST School of Interdisciplinary Studies.
The newly established Department of Biomedical Science will admit 7 students in the 2026 Ga group regular admissions, based entirely on the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) scores. This department aims to cultivate talent to lead precision medicine and future healthcare through the convergence of advanced life sciences, engineering, and digital technology.
The regular admissions process selects students based 100% on CSAT scores (excluding the arts and physical education departments and any unfilled early admissions spots), with results calculated using standardized scores. English grades are converted into equivalent standardized scores, and for Korean History, points are deducted according to grade. For the elective section, applicants may apply regardless of whether they took social studies, science, or vocational studies; however, for those applying to natural science departments who took science subjects, an additional 7% of their standardized score is added.
The subject weighting by major is as follows: For natural science departments, Korean 20%, Mathematics 35%, English 20%, and Elective 25%. For humanities departments, Korean 30%, Mathematics 25%, English 20%, and Elective 25%. For the Department of Creative Writing, Korean 40%, English 30%, and the remaining 30% is from either Mathematics or Elective, whichever the applicant chooses. For the Industrial Design major (100% CSAT), Korean 30%, Mathematics 25%, English 25%, and Elective 20% are reflected. For the Department of Sports Science, Korean 30%, Mathematics 20%, English 25%, and Elective 25% are considered. For the College of Art and Design (excluding Industrial Design major with 100% CSAT), Korean 40%, English 25%, and Elective 35% are reflected. For the School of Interdisciplinary Studies (College of Technology Management and Convergence), Korean 25%, Mathematics 30%, English 20%, and Elective 25% are considered.
Students admitted to the ST School of Interdisciplinary Studies Type I may choose their preferred department or division from those offered at the university after completing either the first or second semester of their first year.
