Professor Kim stated, "In a rapidly changing environment for safety and security due to artificial intelligence, physical AI, and hyper-connected network technologies, research that connects expertise in private security with public security capabilities is more important than ever."

He emphasized, "I will actively promote various academic seminars and joint research projects, including policy and institutional research, strategies for utilizing advanced security technologies, and field-oriented education and training programs, so that the association can become a 'knowledge hub' leading these changes."

He also added, "I will spare no effort in providing multifaceted support and initiatives at the association level to strengthen communication among members and to ensure that young researchers and field experts can grow together."

Professor Kim, who has focused his research interests on building "integrated safety governance" by connecting private security and public safety, is expected to play a key role in enabling the Korean Association for Private Security Studies to present a new safety paradigm required by modern society as he assumes the presidency.

The Korean Association for Private Security Studies, founded in 2000, is an academic organization with over 500 members, including professors and researchers from more than 150 universities nationwide. In response to the rapidly changing risk structure of modern society, it has established the "public-private partnership-based safety assurance system" as a core value, academically exploring the roles and responsibilities of private security.
