Cheonan Heungtaryeong Dance, Nonsan Strawberry, and Seosan Haemieupseong Festivals
to Be Intensively Developed as Chungcheongnam-do's Signature Tourism Attractions
Chungcheongnam-do has selected the Cheonan Heungtaryeong Dance Festival, the Nonsan Strawberry Festival, and the Seosan Haemieupseong Festival as the province's representative "Premium Festivals," and will focus on nurturing them as core tourism content in connection with the 2025-2026 Chungcheongnam-do Visit Years.
On December 22, the province announced the results of the "One City/County, One Premium Festival Support Project" evaluation and revealed that it had selected the representative festivals from 15 cities and counties within the province.
The Cheonan Heungtaryeong Dance Festival, Nonsan Strawberry Festival, and Seosan Haemieupseong Festival were chosen as "Premium Festivals," the highest designation.
The "One City/County, One Premium Festival Support Project" is being implemented to select a representative festival from each city and county, and to support them through a focused approach. The aim is to raise nationwide recognition and foster them as tourism resources with international competitiveness.
The city and county representative festivals selected this time are: Cheonan Heungtaryeong Dance Festival, Nonsan Strawberry Festival, Seosan Haemieupseong Festival, Winter Gongju Chestnut Festival, Boryeong Muchangpo Mysterious Sea Road Festival, Asan Seongwoong Yi Sun-sin Festival, Gyeryong Military Culture Festival, Dangjin Myeoncheon Eupseong Festival, Geumsan Samgyetang Festival, Buyeo Seodong Lotus Festival, Seocheon Janghang Liriope Festival, Cheongyang Chili and Goji Berry Festival, Hongseong Global Barbecue Festival, Yesan Marketplace Samguk Festival, and Taean Sand Sculpture Healing Festa.
The province plans to cultivate the three festivals selected as Premium Festivals into Chungcheongnam-do's representative brand festivals and provide strategic support for them as signature tourism products linked to the "2025-2026 Chungcheongnam-do Visit Years."
In addition, the province will strengthen the connection with local tourism resources and promote sustainable festival models by enhancing eco-friendly operations and implementing reasonable pricing policies to increase visitor satisfaction.
A provincial official stated, "We will systematically nurture these signature festivals representing the region to invigorate the local economy and tourism industry," adding, "We will develop them into trusted festivals that are carbon-neutral, eco-friendly, and free from price gouging, making Chungcheongnam-do a destination that domestic and international tourists want to revisit."
