The briefing was attended by Choi Byeonggap, Deputy Mayor of Paju City, as well as department heads responsible for high-risk operations such as roadside work and sewage management. Attendees listened to reports on the background of the research service, the work execution plan, and the future schedule, followed by a Q&A session and an in-depth discussion to exchange opinions.

This research service was initiated to assess the overall state of Paju City's occupational safety and health management and to establish a systematic management foundation. In particular, it is based on safety and health-related laws and guidelines, such as the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, with a focus on building a field-oriented safety and health execution system.

The core tasks of the research include: ▲ the revision and establishment of a "Major Industrial Accident Prevention and Response Manual," ▲ an adequacy review of the implementation of obligations to ensure safety and health, ▲ identification and improvement of harmful and hazardous factors in workplaces, and ▲ the establishment of standard operating procedures for each work process. The project is scheduled to continue until May next year.

Deputy Mayor Choi Byeonggap stated, "This briefing marks the starting point for systematically refining Paju City's major industrial accident prevention policies," adding, "We will do our utmost to reestablish an effective, field-oriented occupational safety and health management system to create workplaces where safety is fundamental."

Meanwhile, in 2026, Paju City also plans to conduct a separate research service for the prevention of major accidents at subcontracted, outsourced, and commissioned projects, as well as facilities related to major civil accidents, apart from the current research service.
