The police have launched an investigation after a threatening post claiming that explosives had been planted at the Ministry of National Defense was uploaded online.
On December 22, the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul announced that it had received a report at around 9:30 p.m. the previous day regarding a post titled "Explosives have been installed at the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of Korea" on an online community.
The author specified the detonation site as Yongsan Base, 22 Itaewon-ro, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, and stated that the explosion would occur at 6:00 p.m. on December 23. The post has since been deleted.
The police have strengthened patrols around the Ministry of National Defense and are tracking down the author of the post.
