The controversy surrounding Coupang is leading to a wave of public withdrawals by celebrities. Following the recent large-scale personal information leak, issues of overwork-related deaths at logistics centers, and criticism over the unresponsive attitude of Coupang Inc. founder and Chairman Kim Beomseok, the 'Talpang' (leaving Coupang) movement appears to be spreading.

On the 19th, actor Moon Sungkeun announced on his social media that "It's easy not to use Coupang," introducing ways to utilize GS SHOP and Naver N+Store. He added, "If you can't find a product, check it on Coupang first, then enter the search term on another platform and you'll find it." He also raised his voice, saying, "Dawn delivery? Just order a day or two in advance. If you're annoyed, can't you even do that?"

Kim Euisung also indirectly explained his reason for leaving Coupang on his social media the previous day, stating, "These days, I use Naver Shopping. Even without dawn delivery, there is no major inconvenience." He added, "If the company improves, I will consider rejoining."

This controversy began on November 29, when Coupang disclosed that the personal information of 33.7 million customers had been leaked. The company initially described the incident as an "exposure," and Chairman Kim's absence from a National Assembly hearing fueled public distrust. Although a report submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) labeled it a "significant cybersecurity incident," the company explained that there was no impact on operations, which further intensified the controversy.

Furthermore, it has been alleged that Chairman Kim previously instructed the downplaying of overwork-related deaths among workers at Coupang's logistics centers and ordered that privacy protection not be considered during the introduction of Coupang Flex. Coupang Flex is a system in which ordinary people deliver goods using their own vehicles.
