This year's ceremony was held at 4 p.m. on December 18 in the International Conference Room of the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education.

At the ceremony, a total of 28 institutions, including the National Busan Science Museum, received the Mecenat Tower award. In addition, 10 institutions were presented with the Mecenat Plaque, 3 institutions and individuals received Letters of Appreciation, and 1 individual was awarded a Certificate of Commendation.

The National Busan Science Museum, in cooperation with the National Busan Science Museum Sponsorship Association (Chairman Lee Sutae, Chairman of Panasia), has continuously carried out science education donation activities for students from underprivileged backgrounds and marginalized regions.

Through a variety of educational donation programs-including science culture exploration education, education for out-of-school youth, the Smart Senior School for the elderly, science education for people with disabilities, and support for group tour buses for experiential learning-the museum provided science education opportunities to approximately 8,300 people this year alone.

These activities were highly praised for helping to reduce the gap in science education between different social classes and regions, and for contributing to the realization of social educational value.

Since its opening in December 2015, the National Busan Science Museum has consistently carried out science sharing projects and activities to promote science culture in collaboration with the local community. The museum has now received the Education Mecenat Award a total of eight times from 2017 to this year.

Song Samjong, Director of the National Busan Science Museum, stated, "This award recognizes the achievements of the science education sharing activities we have carried out together with the Sponsorship Association for the local community," and added, "We will continue to donate science education so that everyone can have the opportunity to learn through science."
