The Resident-led Village Living Lab Project is a community-based initiative in which residents directly participate to identify and improve inconveniences in daily life. The city will select 10 communities to support their activities.
The Emergency Safety Supplies Support Project for Children with Disabilities aims to enhance child safety by providing emergency and fire response supplies to daycare centers specializing in children with disabilities.
The K-Onki Village Project involves dispatching Yongin City's youth volunteer group to Da Nang, Vietnam, to promote Korean culture and participate in local volunteer activities. The city plans to support youth-led international exchanges and sharing activities.
The Climate Action Opportunity Income+ Project aims to spread a sustainable urban culture by providing incentives for citizens' carbon-neutral practices, such as using light rail transit and reusable tumblers.
The Hometown Love Donation Program is a system that allows individuals to donate to local governments other than their registered address. Donors receive tax deductions on their contributions and can also receive local specialty products and other return gifts provided by the respective local governments.
Since the implementation of the program in 2023, Yongin City has raised a total of 4,980 donations amounting to 453.13 million KRW as of the end of last month, and has been promoting resident welfare enhancement projects starting this year.
Donors are offered more than 80 types of return gifts, including admission tickets to Everland and the Korean Folk Village, JoaYong merchandise, Baegok rice, Korean pork gift sets, and Yongin WaiPay. Starting next year, the city plans to introduce 16 additional return gifts, such as processed foods made from mulberry leaves, blueberries, and pine mushrooms; Yongin-designated specialty products like Yeorihyang rice, free-range eggs, and traditional foods; and the Yongin Tour Pass.
Lee Sangil, Mayor of Yongin City, stated, "We will ensure the Hometown Love Fund, created through the participation and interest of donors, is managed effectively to enhance resident welfare and revitalize the local community," adding, "We will continue to actively raise the Hometown Love Fund by diversifying return gifts and strengthening promotional efforts."
