Warm Reactions Online: "Let's Protect Children's Innocence"
Written in Mixed Chinese Characters and English to Keep It Unreadable for Children
A notice written in code was posted in an apartment, drawing attention. The notice explained that an event was being organized to protect children's innocence during Christmas, and it was written using a mix of Chinese characters and English so that children would not be able to understand it.
On the 17th, a photo and post titled "'Santa HOME BANGMUN Notice'" was uploaded to an online community.
The notice read, "Adults Only SECRET Notice. X-mas is quietly approaching again this year, so we have prepared the Santa HOME BANGMUN event." When interpreted, it is a secret notice for adults only, announcing a Santa home visit event for Christmas.
The notice also stated that Santa would visit homes that applied in advance, in order, and that gifts prepared and wrapped by each household would be delivered to the children. The type and price of gifts were left to each family's discretion, and Santa would only deliver the gifts and offer a brief greeting.
Instead of Korean, the notice used simple English and Chinese characters, making it easy for adults to understand but difficult for children to read. The person who posted the notice explained, "The intention was to prevent children who can read Korean from understanding it." They added that during the same event last year, children were delighted to see Santa Claus and receive gifts.
Online users also responded positively, saying, "I hope it ends successfully," "It's wonderful to see efforts to protect children's innocence," and "It seems like an unforgettable, precious gift of memories."
