Gimpo City Seeks Solutions Through Dialogue
Mayor Kim Byungsoo: "We Will Implement Practical Livelihood Policies to Address On-the-Ground Challenges Together with the Administration"
On December 17, Gimpo City held a meeting with members of the Gimpo City Sanitation Association at Gimpo City Hall to directly listen to the voices of small business owners in sanitation-related sectors, who form the backbone of the local livelihood economy.

This meeting was organized to hear firsthand the practical challenges faced by the sanitation industry-including bakeries, restaurants, accommodations, and beauty businesses-which are closely tied to citizens' daily lives and have been experiencing increasing difficulties due to prolonged high inflation and economic stagnation, and to seek solutions.
Branch heads representing each sector attended the meeting and shared the current state of the industry. In particular, they emphasized that a stable business environment for sanitation-related sectors directly leads to the stability of citizens' livelihoods, and highlighted the need for policy support that reflects on-the-ground conditions.
They also pointed out that regulations related to sanitation and safety, as well as the cost of maintaining facilities, place a significant burden on small business owners. They proposed improvements to administrative procedures and the development of tailored support measures that take into account the unique characteristics of each sector.
Gimpo City stated that it would carefully review the opinions raised during the meeting and consider rational policy measures from various perspectives, aiming for effective policy implementation rather than indiscriminate support.
Kim Byungsoo, Mayor of Gimpo City, said, "Sanitation-related sectors are at the forefront of livelihood, responsible for citizens' food and daily services. The administration will share the burdens faced on the ground and pursue livelihood-centered policies that provide real help."
